In the early 1990's, on warm summer evenings, Mike Carr (Lardo) would practice his banjo in front of Lexington Fire Station #5. A friend started stopping by with his guitar, then another, and another. It wasn't long till a neighbor came by with a bass fiddle and the next thing they knew they were jamming everyday in between duties. The jam session grew until the pickers and audience sometimes were more than the firehouse room would hold. One evening in about 1995, a shy guitar picker, Mike Hammond (Burley) and his brother came from Nicholasville, Kentucky for one of the jam sessions. As the crowd started to think down he finally got out his guitar and immediately everyone realized this guy had something. A special friendship soon developed and they became closer than friends; they're brothers, the Moron Brothers that is.
